CJM Wealth Advisers, Ltd. was founded in 1978. This makes CJM one of the oldest financial planning firms in Northern Virginia.
CJM Wealth Advisers, Ltd. is privately held. A number of our peers in the Washington, D.C. area have been bought by larger institutions. CJM is an independently held company and not a subsidiary of a larger company.
CJM Wealth Advisers, Ltd. is a locally owned small business. All four (4) owners of CJM reside in Northern Virginia.
There are a total of ten members of our Planning Team all of whom are Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) practitioners. In addition, CJM is one of a handful of firms in the Washington, D.C/metropolitan area that has a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) on staff. By having our own Portfolio Research Department headed by a CFA allows CJM to deliver a more custom tailored approach to each client and their respective portfolios.
CJM advises on approximately $800 million in client assets. CJM is not a multi-billion dollar organization with thousands of clients. This means that when a client has a question and they call the office during normal working hours, they will speak with a live person. Our clients are our most important resource and we value each and every relationship we have.
Fee only. This means that clients who engage CJM for investment advisory services pay a flat fee percentage on their entire portfolio. CJM does not charge clients commissions, sales charges, ticket charges on any brokerage type transaction, or 12b-1 fees. In addition, clients do not pay annual custodial fees on IRA and/or retirement accounts.
At CJM we believe we have a fiduciary responsibility to every client. In simple terms, this means that we will always act in the client's best interests.
CJM is an active member of our local community. We understand that as members of our community, we work here, we live here, and we are raising our families here. In both corporate and personal efforts, CJM has assisted the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Fairfax CASA, Rotary International disaster relief efforts, Wounded Warrior, the Foundation for Financial Planning, Habitat for Humanity, as well as scholarships for college bound students.
